As well as being a Trustee for Merton Community Transport (MCT), Brenda Fraser also has qualifications in Health Care and Law and is a Lecturer in Education. She has been an associate lecturer with the Open University as well as having lectured in Further Education. Specialising in Health, Social Care and Child Care, she supports students with dyslexia to achieve their goals. Brenda has served in numerous roles throughout the public sector, including working in the Metropolitan Police, and as a magistrate in Adult and Family Courts. Married with two adult children and two grandchildren, Brenda served as the Mayor of Merton from 2016-17 and was recently promoted to Cabinet Member for Culture, Leisure and Skills at Merton Council.

Fran (Francesca) Hibbert

Fran (Francesca) Hibbert was appointed an MCT trustee in 2016, having previously been Chief Officer of Merton Vision for 18 years. During her tenure with Merton Vision, she increased services for people with a visual impairment locally and strengthened the charity and relationships with social services, councillors, MP’s and local and national voluntary organisations. She has also served as a trustee on national and local charities for blind people, and was involved in various forums working to improve NHS treatment for eye conditions and eye health. A governor for two Merton primary schools,
She has served two terms as chair and also has secondary progressive MS.

Stephen Hickey

Stephen Hickey joined MCT as a trustee in 2017. A former Chair of the Community Transport Association (UK), he is currently Chair of Healthwatch Wandsworth. His career as a civil servant was in the DHSS/DWP and Dept for Transport, while more recently he has served as Chair of St George’s Hospital Charity and as a lay member of the Wandsworth Clinical Commissioning Group. Married with grown-up children, Stephen has been a Merton resident for 40 years.

Becky Hooper

Becky Hooper joined MCT as a Trustee in 2020, while studying for an MSc in Criminology at Birkbeck University. She is also a volunteer with the Metropolitan Police Service and Treasurer for the Mitcham Marlins Swimming Club. She previously worked as a Quantity Surveyor, specialising in residential refurbishment, and was a Special Constable in the Thames Valley Police. She is married with two teenage children.

Akidi Ocan

Akidi Ocan joined Merton Community Transport’s Executive Board in 2018. She has been part of the Merton community since 1993, when she moved to the borough with her family. She is a judge who deals with appeals to the Special Educational Needs and Disability Tribunal and the Mental Health Tribunal. She practised as a barrister from 1984 to 2014, starting her career in chambers, before moving into the voluntary sector. She then spent 25 years in the public sector, dealing primarily with social care and health.

Olumide Osayameh

Olumide Osayameh joined the MCT board as a treasurer in 2017. A qualified accountant, he has worked at numerous multinational organisations including Credit Suisse, Legal & General and Rio Tinto, focusing primarily on expenses and senior management reporting. Known mainly as Mide, he is married with three young children.

Anthony “Tony” Sandiford

Anthony “Tony” Sandiford became a MCT Trustee in 2002 shortly after retiring from a 31-year career as a Metropolitan Police officer. He has served as the chair of both West Indian families and Friends Association and the Ethnic Minority Centre at the Vestry Hall Mitcham. Tony is married with children and has been in the borough of Merton residing with his wife since 1975. In 2021, he was awarded the Queens Maundy Award for his voluntary contribution to the church and community.
